The Center for Oncological Research, CORE
The Center for Oncological Research, known as CORE, is part of the University of Antwerp. CORE conducts groundbreaking research to improve the lives of cancer patients. Every donation goes directly to cancer research and helps accelerate scientific progress. Thanks to donations, researchers can test new therapies and innovative ideas more quickly. In this way, CORE makes a difference for the cancer patients of today and tomorrow.
A concrete example of such innovation is CAR-NK cell therapy, a new and promising form of immunotherapy. This approach uses immune cells from healthy donors to specifically target and attack cancer cells. CORE is already quite advanced in this field and hopes to be among the first in Europe to bring this therapy to patients. Your contribution makes more possible.

Run For Tomorrow
Run For Tomorrow was founded in May 2025, inspired by the strength, altruism and courage of our friend and fellow student Anthony van Bijsterveld. Anthony was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour. Yet he never allowed cancer to define him and refused to give up his optimistic and positive outlook on life.
“The obstacle is the way.” Even during his most difficult moments, Anthony continued to uplift and inspire those around him. He reminded us of the value of being able to live, dream and look ahead.
In July 2025, we sadly said goodbye to Anthony. Through Run For Tomorrow, we continue to carry forward his optimism, energy and resilience. Behind every runner is often a personal story. Through our community, we turn those stories into meaningful impact.
Last year, Run For Tomorrow brought together more than 160 runners across the Antwerp Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K. Together, they raised over €46,000 for the Leuven Cancer Institute, resulting in the most successful crowdfunding campaign in the organisation’s history.
The funds supported the Brain Tumor Research Hub of the Leuven Cancer Institute, a collaboration between research groups at KU Leuven and UZ Leuven dedicated to brain tumour research. The hub brings together fundamental research, innovative technologies and clinical studies to accelerate the development of new treatments.
This year, we dream even bigger. Our ambition is to become the largest student-led non-profit organisation in Belgium dedicated to supporting cancer research.

12 Guardians Foundation
The charitable foundation 12 Guardians is a registered Ukrainian non-profit organisation founded in 2019. Originally established to reduce animal homelessness through large-scale sterilisation and adoption programmes, the foundation has grown into one of Ukraine’s leading frontline animal rescue organisations.
Since the outbreak of the full-scale war, 12 Guardians has been rescuing and evacuating animals from conflict zones, providing emergency veterinary care, rehabilitation and new homes.
One of its most significant rescue missions followed the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam in 2023, when the organisation coordinated large-scale efforts to save affected animals.
Every donation directly supports rescue missions and lifesaving veterinary care for animals impacted by the war.
